Research Interests

My research interests are commutative ring theory, applied algebraic topology, data science, and math education. I am currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of two grant projects:

(1)
"Persistence, Metrics, And Applications on the Collection of Enriched Metric Measure Spaces," which represents a broadening of my research program to applied mathematics and aims to study gerrymandering and electoral redistricting using topological data analysis and metric geometry.

(2) "Hidden Figures Revealed: Dynamic Narratives and History of Black Mathematicians from The Ohio State University," which is the first comprehensive study of Black mathematicians at a single United State institution.

Mission Statement

My career mission is to increase access to mathematics for Black Americans and members of other traditionally underrepresented groups in the mathematical sciences through academic research,  inclusive pedagogy, and community engaged scholarship.
