Ranthony A.C. Edmonds, PhD Postdoctoral Researcher
I am a National Science Foundation Mathematical and Physical Sciences (NSF MPS) Ascending Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at The Ohio State University where my sponsoring scientist is Facundo Mémoli. In August 2023, I will be an NSF MPS Ascending Postdoctoral Researcher and Phillips Griffiths Assistant Research Professor at Duke University where my sponsoring scientist will be Jonathan Mattingly.
My research interests are commutative ring theory, applied algebraic topology, data science, and math education. I am currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of two grant projects:
(2) "Hidden Figures Revealed: Dynamic Narratives and History of Black Mathematicians from The Ohio State University," which is the first comprehensive study of Black mathematicians at a single United State institution.
Mission Statement
My career mission is to increase access to mathematics for Black Americans and members of other traditionally underrepresented groups in the mathematical sciences through academic research, inclusive pedagogy, and community engaged scholarship.
