I am a Berlekamp Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (formerly SLMath) for the Fall 2023 Semester Program on Algorithms, Fairness, and Equity. In Spring 2024, I will be an National Science Foundation Mathematical and Physical Sciences Ascending Postdoctoral Researcher and Phillips Griffiths Assistant Research Professor at Duke University where my sponsoring scientist will be Jonathan Mattingly.
My research interests are commutative ring theory, applied algebraic topology, data science, and math education. I am currently the Principal Investigator (PI) of two grant projects:
(2) "Hidden Figures Revealed: Dynamic Narratives and History of Black Mathematicians from The Ohio State University," which is the first comprehensive study of Black mathematicians at a single United State institution.
Mission Statement
My career mission is to increase access to mathematics for Black Americans and members of other traditionally underrepresented groups in the mathematical sciences through academic research, inclusive pedagogy, and community engaged scholarship.
